As a user, it is very easy to keep track of your monthly balance and know what you can and can't expense. The mobile app is very friendly and easy to use. I have reached out to their support team a few times and they are always helpful and eager to assist. From the admin side, it is easy to add allowance to accounts and keep track of employees' spending. I love that you also receive a physical card to use at physical stores and can use the digital card when shopping online. Security is also very high, but I love I can use Face ID on the mobile app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If you try to spend on the last of the month and it's a weekend, the payment will process to the other month. This is very similar to normal cards, but would be nice if they could come out for a workaround for this. When I got a new phone, it was difficult logging in again, but that is good security and when I reached out to their support team, they were quick to help me verify myself and log back into the mobile app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Designed for modern-day banking. We moved our tech startup business early on from Chase to Brex and never looked back. Designed for easy financial management with so many incredible features. Card management is an absolute joy, and with a powerful search function that makes you wonder how you ever managed banking without it. Brex is a clear winner and stands out from the pack of dinosaurs. They have excellent customer service and continue introducing new and exciting features with velocity. Highly recommended! Initially, the downside was not being able to open/manage multiple accounts but they delivered this feature late last year. They listen to their customers, and we are delighted; I struggle to think of anything we dislike about Brex. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to use, the dashboard is simple to manage, I can find all the information about my purchases whenever I need it, the reports are very intuitive. I love the integrations with other software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I cannot find information about cashback. I don't know if the problem is my user permissions, but I'd like to see it more clearly. Also, one time I wasn't sure what a transaction was about (as a company, we have many transactions) and as I clicked on it, the category was "electronics", but after looking internally, it was software related. I was worried it was a purchase of an electronic good, it made me panic a little since I was responsible for all the purchase. Most of all, I dislike that there is no BREX available in Brazil. We need this product here too! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to quickly make payments using my company-provided card is lovely! The platform is also super simple, so it is easy to add memos and invoices and the automatic reminders are very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not much! I cannot think of anything much that I do not like. Some improvements could be the ability to "tap" the card like many companies now allow. But I can add it to my apple wallet, which gets around this minor inconvenience. I think the automatic addition to the accounting lines is not always intuitive. Brex is great when they haven't suspended you randomly. They have great rewards programs, virtual employee cards, and outbound transfer methods. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I can't get over is my recent experience with them. With no warning, they suspended my account. They don't communicate to how I can resolve the issue or provide any verification documents. I have a substantial amount of funds sitting in the account. I was lucky enough to have an emergency fund to pay employees and creditors. The account was suspended on the 23rd, and it is now the 30th, and no word from anyone. I have tried to reach out, offering any sort of information to them to continue the business. They just seem to take it lightly and say someone will get back to me. No one ever does. I wouldn't recommend this bank as a primary account to anyone at this point. Suspension like this for such a prolonged period can make or break some businesses. I have been banking with them now for a year and expected more from them as a loyal business customer. All I can do is pray that something happens soon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the text messages I get after making a purchase on my card, as well as the help/support resources. I like that I can add users (I'm an Admin) and order cards for them, also assign a Manager and user limit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Only complaint is that I was confused on was my getting 3 cards. I didn't understand at first why I had both a physical and virtual card - now I understand but some initial explanation would have been helpful.
I lied, one more thing - I was. a little confused when trying to add a user and card - I saw that we were maxed out on the number of cards, but that turned out to be info for my own card, not our limit as a company. A quick chat with Support helped to clarify, but at first I thought we'd have to cancel some cards or upgrade a plan somehow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the text feature! When I make a purchase, I immediately snap a pic of my receipt, usually right there at the register (before I walk away, and the probability that I lose or misplace it skyrockets). Sometimes, by the time I walk out to my car, I've already uploaded my receipt image to Brex! Also love the slack integration reminders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Wish I could add a memo from the text feature as well. It would be great if I could reply to the text that matches my receipt to a purchase with the memo as well. But, when I forget to add a memo, I get a nice reminder to log in and get that done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Dang, its a tie! The ability to upload receipts via text message or app. I also love the digital card and being able to use Apple Pay. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I cannot think of a single think a dislike! Brex is secure and easy to use. The fact that I can submit receipts on the go (or be reminded to do so) makes expenses and compliance so much easier! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We are a consulting firm and we deal with small businesses and startups. Most banks make getting a first business account stressful with too many steps to be approved. On top of that, they have so many fees. None of those issues exist with Brex. You simply provide the documents requested, and the next day you can start receiving and using the money. I wish there were a way to deposit cash. Right now, it seems that only brick and mortar business accounts allow cash deposits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The debit card feature was seamless when setting up, and usage was great (just like a bank). Statement functionality was also just like a bank's but that is where the seamless stops. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reliance on a huge bank reserve on your part takes all the risk away from Brex, but it makes it primarily useful as a cash flow control tool. We needed it to ensure that we didn't get a huge number of transactions coming out of the bank account during the month because, as part of a startup, we didn't have a lot of cash flow. It came in irregularly and in big chunks so the Brex card was cut off over half of the time, negating its usefulness. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I see that this could be great to offer your employees an allowance every month that they could use on things like: internet, gym memberships, drinks/snacks; the sky is the limit. It was amazing to add a virtual card to my Google Pay the same day that work provisioned my account. I was able to go out and purchase items for our happy hour that evening as a remote worker. The only thing I don't enjoy is entering receipts, but they've made it simple. You can log into their web interface or email them; I haven't tried the app yet. I would love to see an integration like watching for incoming emails from common vendors like square, which would automatically add those receipts to your account; that would be amazing. Brex removes all friction we get with traditional banks. The easy access to credit cards and the expense feature are really useful for small and medium-sized businesses. Customer service is also great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We should have the option to create a monthly card or not when we create a new user. For now, it automatically creates one, which can lead to some mistakes if you don't review the user enrollment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't need a physical card to make expenditures. Very easy to use and easy to distribute from management. Transparency and clarity in the amount expended are effortless to understand. No training is required to start using it. Getting the invite to create the login before getting started took only minutes. Users can easily keep track of their receipts via the mobile app or receive a text message asking to take a picture of the most recent purchase. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The UI for the portal should be cleaner. It is a chore to sign in to the online portal as I might use different devices to sign in. Authentication and re-auth will take extra time. There needs to be a way to simplify the process without compromising it. Sometimes the system does not recognize the receipt when I capture it despite the total amount clearly displayed. Another point is that the user has to be aware of what the billing address of the card is, so that should be clearly stated to the user when issued to them. The user should enter the specific billing address for any airfare, hotel, or rental companies portals, or a declined transaction may result. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Brex is very efficient, has impressive features (you honestly don't need to buy their paid pro version, they have more than enough features already in the no-fee edition). Easy to send ACH and check payments for free. It's easy to tag payment. The credit card rewards are easy to redeem. 10x better than the other business fintech banking I had which, while it pretended to be innovative and future-driven, paled in comparison to Brex. It makes banking as simple as anything else in 2021. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Why do they even have the fee edition? There really aren't meaningful extra features. They should just roll it all into one product and focus on making money on the interchange or Drufius commission or something. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how I can assign people in my company a card and give it a limit. I really like how I can make new cards for different things. I like how I can review where the money is going. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The first time I tried Depositing a check, it couldn't read it. It didn't send me an email saying it was denied or anything. I had to call them to find out what had happened to my money. I waited two days only to find out I needed to submit it again then wait another two days. They say the problem is solved, but I haven't had time to submit a check then wait around two days. The best thing about Brex is that they ARE NOT:
Divvy, Stripe issuing, Mesh, Extend, TradeShift Go, or Comdata.
We have tried out ALL of them. And each one sucks in it's own different special, terrible way. They are like snowflakes of destruction. Each one takes you down a different winter path... time-wasting, financial mismanagement, terrible technology, horrible customer support, and of course, salesmen overpromising. And many have chosen all five painful paths for the misery Yahtzee. Check out my reviews about them for the awful details. Or do yourself a favor and never think about those worthless companies as long as you live.
The next best thing I like about Brex is the everything!
-Customer Service (they listen to what you say, even the highest levels of the company)
-The API (It works, has good documentation, and is always improving, they even have a slack where you can give input on what you want them to build next:-)
-The Salespeople (I expect salespeople to promise the moon and not deliver, but our salespeople (Blake and Marcy) were straightforward, honest, and helpful)
-The Cashback (easy, straightforward and generous)
-It works (I know this should be tablestakes, but it isn't. Read my reviews of their incompetent [to the point of maliciousness] competitors:-)
-They even care about the small volume customers (We don't move a large volume through them [yet!], but they listen to us through in-person meetings at tradeshows and on their slack channel and Twitter) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not becoming their customer sooner...
Seriously they didn't have all the features we needed last year! And they didn't lie to me and tell me that they did... like MANY companies in this space are prone to do. I won't name names.
Ok I will:
Divvy, Stripe issuing, Mesh, Extend, TradeShift Go, Comdata.
As a matter a fact, I will scream it to give G2 some extra SEO juice
Divvy vs Stripe issuing vs Mesh vs Extend vs TradeShift Go vs Comdata
